Maple Leaf Youth Awards Guidelines

Please note the deadline on the application form. Late submissions will not be considered.

Eligibility

All Grade 11 & 12 students are eligible to apply. In addition, they must satisfy the following criteria:

  • Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada
  • Reside in the province of British Columbia
  • Have a minimum grade average of 73% (B)

Application Procedures

All applicants must complete a title page and submit it along with the supporting documentation and the essay, as described on the checklist. All submissions may be used for promotional purposes (personal information will be kept confidential). Please note that no part of the application will be returned.

Judges

A panel of interdisciplinary professionals from the Club will select the winners for each category of awards. The judges will give special weight to the essay’s clarity of thought and expression. The decision of the judges will be final.

Award Presentation

Award nominees will be invited to a reception event hosted by the Canadian Club of Vancouver. The Award Recipients will be named during the event and will receive a special Maple Leaf plaque, a certificate and the scholarship cheque.

The Maple Leaf Youth Awards are awarded in May each year.
